2nd Update on Tuesday, April 16th, 2013

Update on Ben Wolverton

Ben had a long day, sleeping all day, with no real sign of improvement. In fact, his fever has been a bit higher.

Then about an hour ago he began kicking around and he woke up and looked around a bit. He still can't control his eyes well, but he did better than yesterday. I asked him to squeeze my hand if he understood that we were talking to him, and he squeezed very hard. The nurse gave him some methadone to "wean" him from the harder drugs, so he has calmed down a bit.

So he is doing a tiny bit better than yesterday, showing a few more signs of improvement after a long, discouraging day.

I'm going to go hug my son.
