Update on Ben Wolverton

Today was a tough day for Ben. He was restless this morning, and had a fever of 103. They got it down for a bit, but it is back up to 104 this afternoon, and now he is having some problems regulating his blood pressure.

We put cool towels on his read and sponged him off, in order to bring his temperature down, and also put some ice compresses on him.

The doctors sedated Ben, so that he can get some rest. Since he is unconscious, and won't wake up until they let him, we decided to come home to get some rest, too. We're staying at the Ronald McDonald House here in Las Vegas. They really are very helpful here.

  1. I'm so glad you got a picture up of Ben before his accident. I suggest you also put up get-well cards from friends and family. It's so good to learn that he is responding, following instructions (as well as possible). Have you tried to get "yes/no" out of him by asking him to blink once for yes and twice for no? Camron never got the two for no done but he got the one blink for yes. When he transferred to PCMC, they recognized that he was communicating but no one at MKD believed me. I see many encouraging things in your updates. Ann Stephens
