Ben's condition: Since his brain surgery on Thursday, Ben's face has swollen up like a balloon, so that even though he is stable on his vitals, he's looking much worse. His lungs have cleared up and stopped bleeding, I think, so that is good, but a team just came in to x-ray his knees.
Apparently the burn unit thinks we will need to operate on those. Ben also has a broken pelvis in a couple of places and some damaged vertebrae near his tail bone. The doctor says that once we get past the brain injuries, we can worry about these other things, but Ben won't be able to walk for the next three months. He's still in his coma, though, so is feeling no pain.
