Today started off with the doctors putting some staples in Ben's head to stop the bleeding from his skull surgery. (He has been leaking fluid a bit.)
The good news is that they took him off of the drugs that keep him in a medically induced coma. The drugs stay in the system for several days, so Ben should wake slowly. The nurse told my wife that it would probably be five more days, at least, before he wakes.
Also, Ben has pneumonia still, so he coughed up a little fluid today. That's good. It was the first cough so far. Also, Mary said that he moved his lips slightly today. That's good, too. He hasn't moved any body part since the accident.
