Update on Ben Wolverton
It has now been 31 days since Ben fell off of his longboard.
Ben had a little bit of a down day today, after two up days.
He spent time with Spencer, who took lots of embarrassing pictures that can be used for blackmail purposes years from now.
Ben still hasn't passed his swallow test, and it now looks as if he won't be able to go to rehab as quickly as we had hoped. He continues to be more active, and he's talking better, but Ben doesn't seem to believe today that he fell off his longboard. Nor does he believe that his skull cap is stored in his stomach.
May got to go see him tonight, and his first words were, "Mom, I just want to get out of here."
So he's feeling frustrated and trapped. He did get to go for a wheelchair ride today and get some sun, so things continue looking up.
Meanwhile, my sinus infection seems glued to me, and I can't shake it. I think I picked up some extra powerful bacteria or virus in the hospital. I spent all day trying to put together paperwork for the government, and will be doing it for the next week, I suspect, as we apply for various programs to help cover the costs of this.
