Update on Ben Wolverton

Today we start the sixth week since Ben fell from his longboard. Ben is still in the ICU at University Medical Center in Las Vegas. There seems to be some confusion on the issue, but it sounds as if he has the doctor's clearance to get transferred to Primary Children's Medical Center for rehabilitation . . . but there is a hitch. It appears that there are no beds open right now, so Ben will have to wait a bit before he can go. We don't know when he might go, and right now we are taking it day-by-day.

Ben didn't have any big news today. The doctor had him stand try to walk for 20 minutes, doubling yesterday's time, and that wore him out. He also got to watch a movie, and a volunteer brought a puppy in to play with Ben, and Ben liked that a lot.

Ben still has his feeding tube, since his swallowing is a little slow, but otherwise he is doing pretty well. He doesn't like the hospital food, so Mary snuck a bean burrito in for him.

Mary says that he is getting the twinkle back in his and has begun to laugh at jokes.

Today Ben did get to go outside to catch some rays.

Me, I'm feeling better from the sinus infection, finally. I spent 10 hours finishing up the taxes for the year (only took about 60 hours this year--record time). I then spent another couple of hours trying to get the forms that I need for Medicaid. They're due tomorrow, and I haven't been able to find out where to get them. Anyone who works for Utah Medicaid, I could use some help!
