Today is the 50th day since Ben fell off of his longboard.
Ben spent another "easy" day convalescing from his recent surgeries, though he did get back into therapy today, doing some walking, reading, and so on.
This morning, Ben got the drains taken out of his skull. It was a painful procedure, but the music therapists came and sang to him as it was done. So Ben has gone most of the day with very little painkiller--only a single Motrin.
Ben's swelling on his face seemed to max out last night, and today it is getting better. Between the shrunken skull look one day, and the swelling the next, it's almost like looking at Ben in a fun-house mirror.
The hospital has approved Ben for a little off-site recreation for the weekend, so we thought that we would take him to the science fiction convention at Conduit for a couple of hours on Saturday morning.
